I am Anushree. I am 20 years old. I am staying in a hostel and doing my post-graduation. My father wants to give me a good education even though it is difficult at home. So, he sends me to college. In between, there was a sickness issue for my brother. We admitted him to a private hospital. But the cost of treatment is very expensive and we did not have that much money. My father borrowed huge sums of money from someone else to pay hospital expenses. I did not go home since I was in college and I went home for holidays.
During this time, my father had spoken with us about the upcoming difficult days. This was the first time I have seen him helpless. When I return to the hostel, I felt I am losing something. My father’s words were constantly repeating in my mind and I was thinking to stop my studies and help my father by doing any job. But I am not sure what to do.
In this situation, the awareness program was held at our college through the Yuva Spandana Kendra for young people who are in confusion and problems. So, I visited Yuva Spandana Kendra with my friend. The people of Yuva Spandana have warmly welcomed us and enquired about our issues. I told them about my confusion that caused by the situation at my home. Then, they gave us the information about the scholarship that I can take and the part-time job that I can do without stopping my education. By this, I realized that I can help my father financially by continuing my education. Thus, I heartily thank Yuva Spandana Kendra for the great co-operation and understanding my emotion by helping me in taking the right decision.
